Simple said that if he didn't have to ride Jim Crow he would go to his hometown for his vacation. Simple was saying that he doesn't want to be around people who has that mentality of manipulating blacks. Simple does not want to be around such ignorance.

I think you entirely missed the point on this one. You need to have a better understanding of Jim Crow and what it meant to Simple.
